After breakfast pick up from your hotel for a full day private tour. See the staggering Great Pyramids built with such great precision and the mystical and magnificent Sphinx carved from natural rock. Continue the tour with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses priceless pieces from every period of ancient Egyptian history. Overnight in Cairo. (B)  

Morning transfer from your hotel to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor. Upon arrival transfer to cruise vessel for embarkation with lunch on board. In the afternoon tour Karnak Temple - the main centre of worship in ancient Egypt and Luxor Temple. See its avenue of Sphinxes, the 24m high pylon built by Ramses II and many other sights of this amazing complex all built by different ancient pharaohs and leaders. Overnight on board. Today visit the West Bank of the Nile and discover the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple, built in honour of the only woman ever to rule Egypt, continue on to the Colossi of Memnon. Gaze in awe at the massive statues dedicated to Amenhotep III, which have been standing for over 3400 years. Sail to Esna to cross the Lock. Esna is the hometown of the Temple of Esna, dedicated to three deities, with its magnificent red sandstone walls and columns and then continue on to Edfu for overnight on board. (B, L, D)  

After breakfast, head to Edfu’s Temple of Horus built during the time of Cleopatra VII. This temple was built over the site of an older temple and gazes over the ruins of Temple Pylon. Sail to Kom Ombo, originally called Nubt, which was named for its references to the ‘city of gold’. You will also see the Greco-Roman temple built overlooking the Nile. Sail to Aswan for overnight. Today involves touring Aswan, one of the driest inhabited cities in the world, where you will visit the High Dam and the Egyptian Temple on the Island of Philae in the Nile. This island contains many temples within a complex structure, the most notable being dedicated to the goddess Isis. After lunch sail by felucca around Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Breakfast on board before a free day at leisure. Opportunity to participate in an optional tour to the site of Abu Simbel, famed for the magnificent statues of Ramses and his wife Nefertari. Other options include exploring downtown Aswan, visit Nubian museum or Nubian Village or take horse and carriage drive along the Nile. Perhaps spend time bargaining in the vibrant bazaar. Lunch and dinner on board. Overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D) 

Morning sail to Kom Ombo to visit the uniquely symmetric twin temples. Explore the temples and the catacombs, dedicated to crocodiles and the crocodile-headed god Sobek and the opposite side dedicated to the Falcon God Haroeris. Admire the innovation of ancient Egyptians by their invention of the Nilometer, a device used to measure the success or failure of the annual Nile flood. Continue to Luxor via Edfu for overnight on board. (B, L, D) 

Day to enjoy the atmosphere of Luxor also known as ancient Thebes, and usually described as the largest open air museum. Relax by the pool or take an optional balloon ride or vist Ramesseum the mortuary temple of the famous Pharaoh Ramses II. Meals and overnight on board. (B, L, D) 

Disembark after breakfast. Transfer to Luxor airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of your day at leisure. Perhaps wander the narrow streets of Old Cairo, the Coptic quarter and Islamic Cairo which instils memories of the past or stroll through the Khan al-Khalili, the city’s main market.
