Petra in a Day Tour

Pick up from either hotel in Amman or  Amman airport. Proceed on modern Desert Highway, which marches through Jordan’s breathtaking flat and sandy core in a speedy three and a half hours to Petra. Petra, dating to around 300B.C. was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Accessible via a narrow canyon called Al Siq, it contains ancient tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its fitting nickname, the “Rose City.” Petra is the city in which Indiana Jones hunted for the Holy Grail in the blockbuster movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. On arrival visit the archaeological site which enchants visitors from all corners of the globe. Take a short horse ride or walk to the entrance of The SIq and marvel at the remarkable colour of the rocks while walking through it. See the stunning Treasury with its towering façade and explore a myriad of other architectural wonders including rock cut tombs, temples, funerary halls and rock reliefs. After the exciting visit you will be driven back to Amman and dropped off at your hotel.
