Naples City Break

Arrive in Naples independently and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or begin exploring the city at your own pace. Overnight at NH Panorama or similar.

After breakfast at the hotel, be ready for pick-up around early morning for a fullday guided excursion. Begin with a guided tour of the fascinating archaeological site of Pompeii, where you’ll explore well-preserved ruins including the Forum, Thermal Baths, House of the Vettii, and the Lupanare, all buried under volcanic ash during the eruption of 79 A.D. Next, continue to Mount Vesuvius, with a stop at a local restaurant for a light Italian lunch. After lunch, the driver will take you to an altitude of 1,000 meters. From there, hike up to the summit of the volcano to peer into the massive crater. At the top, you can either join a National Park guide for an explanation of the volcano and its geology or explore on your own. Take in panoramic views of the Mount Somma summit (1,133 m) and the main Vesuvius cone, separated by the dramatic Valley of the Giant. The experience is both aweinspiring and unforgettable. Return to Naples for overnight stay. (B, L)
