After breakfast, enjoy a morning city sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo. Drive past its main squares and avenues, including Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, and Liberty Avenue. Spend the afternoon at your leisure exploring the Alfama Quarter, the old city nestled around the Castle, where narrow, winding “Ruas” lined with colourful buildings host authentic “tabernas”. After breakfast, set off for Montemor-o-Novo, a charming town famous for its rich history and stunning natural landscapes. Known for its vineyards, you will visit a local winery and enjoy a tasting. Next, continue to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its well-preserved medieval architecture and historical importance. With your Local Expert, explore the impressive Roman Temple, the striking Chapel of Bones (admission included), and the magnificent Évora Cathedral. Depart for Aveiro, famous for its charming canals that have earned it the nickname “The Venice of Portugal.” Enjoy a ride on a moliceiro, a traditional brightly coloured boat used to navigate the canals, before continuing to Porto. Upon arrival in Porto, start your visit at the museum “Porto Across the Ages,” where you will embark on an engaging journey through the city’s history, from its medieval roots to its vibrant present. Interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations bring Porto’s past to life, offering a rich insight into its cultural heritage and development. After the museum, head to one of Porto’s renowned wine cellars for a guided tour. Discover the intricate process of port wine production and the unique qualities that make these wines world-famous. Following some free time to explore, continue to Óbidos, a charming medieval town in central Portugal. Famous for its well-preserved castle and historic center, Óbidos features narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses decorated with vibrant flowers, and traditional tilework. The town is surrounded by sturdy 14th-century walls, offering stunning panoramic views of the nearby countryside. Morning city tour of Seville, the capital of Andalusia, led by your Local Expert. Visit the Cathedral, the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Explore the Santa Cruz quarter, the historic setting of the legend of Carmen and the myth of Don Juan. Continue to the beautiful María Luisa Park and the iconic Plaza de España. After breakfast, journey south through picturesque Andalusian villages to Jerez and experience two iconic elements of Andalusian culture: wine and horses. Visit the prestigious Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, followed by a wine tasting at one of the region’s wineries. Continue to Ronda, where we stop at LA Organic to tour an olive oil production facility and sample their premium organic olive oil. The rest of the day is free to explore Ronda. Depart for Málaga and explore the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Málaga is a city steeped in centuries of history, from its Roman roots, evident in the impressive Roman Theatre, to its Moorish legacy, showcased in the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro Castle. Continue to Granada, situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, between the Darro and Genil rivers. One of Andalusia’s true gems, Granada blends the grandeur of the Andalusian legacy, most notably the Alhambra, with the elegance of Renaissance architecture. This evening, take part in a flamenco dance workshop, followed by dinner and show. After dinner, we invite you to take the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful views of Granada from one of the city’s viewpoints. Overnight at Catalonia Granada, Meliá Granada or similar. (B, D)
