Highlights of Malta 8 Days Tour

Todays full day excursion takes you to the central part of Malta, dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city. The narrow, winding streets, dating back to medieval times, lead to the imposing bastions, commanding a magnificent panorama of the island. Time stands still in this Silent City which is a film-maker’s paradise. Leaving Mdina through Greeks’ Gate, we stop at the early Christian catacombs in Rabat before proceeding to the cliffs at Dingli. After lunch visit the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside. We shall also spend time at the crafts centre at Ta Qali. At the end of the tour, allow us to astound you with Mosta’s majestic dome. Lunch and Mosta Church entrance included. (B, L)

After breakfast, your morning tour of Valletta begins with a walk to the Barrakka Gardens, which offers a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour. Then proceed to St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Malta’s greatest treasure that features a famous painting by Caravaggio. Pass Grand Master’s Palace (closed for renovation), which houses the Parliament, offices of the President of Malta, and the Armory. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Transfer to the port and ferry ride to island of Malata. Tour will begin with a visit to the Ggantija Prehistoric Temples in Xaghra before proceeding to Dwejra. Fungus Rock and the Inland Sea. After stopping to see the local lace and knitwear for which Gozo is renowned, you will stop for lunch in a typical Gozitan village. Following lunch, you will have free time during which time we suggest that you visit Gozo’s Cathedral in the island’s capital city, Victoria. To conclude, you will embark on the ferryboat at Mgarr Harbour to return to Malta. *Entrance to the Cathedral is optional, entrance fee is not included. (B, L)

Optional 24 or 48-hrs Pass available to explore more for example three fortified cities; Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua, take a stroll at the Silent City of Mdina, explore the Streets of Valletta, and visit Malta's most beautiful beaches. Tour begins with a trip to Wied iz-Zurrieq to visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting) via a short boat ride. You will then proceed to the southern part of the island Marsaxlokk the fishing village, here you will have free time to stroll around the market and admire the typical and traditionally brightly painted fishing boats, known as “luzzu”. Note: Fare for the boat trip is not included. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
