Croatia & Slovenia Express with Cruise Split to Dubrovnik

Transfer from Zagreb airport to hotel. The rest of your day is free to explore. In the evening meet your tour group with a welcome reception at the hotel, staying at the Westin Hotel or similar. (WR)

Morning sightseeing tour of Zagreb starts with walk through the historic Upper Town. See St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament, and the Government Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town. (B)

After breakfast head towards Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. See the most significant sights of the old city canter on a walking tour. Highlights include the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, Baroque Town Hall, and Robba’s Fountain. Then, continue to Bled for overnight at Kompas or Bled Rose hotel or similar. An Alpine Lake surrounded by high peaks, Bled was “discovered” by travelers in the middle of the 19th century. Since then, a small town of hotels, villas, and restaurants has developed around the lake, turning Bled into a lively, all-seasons resort. A sightseeing tour features the charming town and the lakeshore, and visits imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional excursion visiting the small island in the middle of the lake, browse through the shops and boutiques, or simply relax and enjoy the enchanting scenery. (B) 

The journey continues to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterward, continue to the coast, have a stop in Opatija. Enjoy the walking tour of this fashionable resort in the 19th century, dotted with Habsburg era villas. After some free time, continue towards Plitvice Lakes for overnight at Jezoro hotel or similar. (B, D)

After breakfast, have your camera ready as you take a walking tour around the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. After the tour continue to Split. Overnight in Split at hotel Corner or similar. (B, D)

In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. The rest of the day at leisure. (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the Trogir port. Embarkation starts at 14:00h. Get settled in your cabin before attending a Welcome Reception followed by dinner. (B, WR, D)

In the morning head towards Split where you will join a guided tour of Split with and visit the seafront promenade and Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace. The historical center of the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. After visiting Split, head towards Milna on the Island of Brač with a swim stop, weather permitting, in one of pristine bays, time to relax and lunch on board. After lunch disembark in Milna and take a ride with us to the Olive Oil Museum where to learn the story of this island’s traditions and history and tasting of traditional homemade olive oil. Overnight in the town of Milna. Note: Due to the limited capacity of the Split harbour (reconstructions related) transfer by bus may be organized to and from Split town for the sightseeing tour. Leaving Milna and Brač Island in the morning set sail to Vis. Cruise towards the island of Vis, once a strategic naval Yugoslav base and restricted to the public. Due to this isolation, Vis has a special charm – “the Mediterranean as it once was” making it interesting to visit. Since the independence of Croatia, the island began opening slowly to the outside world. Some of Europe’s largest and greatest naval battles had happened in the waters of Vis. Vis Island holds many historic secrets and we will explore Vis history by military Land Rover Defenders. Overnight in one of the harbors on the island of Vis. (B, L)

Leaving Vis in the morning and sail towards Biševo island to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon on the islet Biševo just in front of the town of Komiža. The possibility of our visit will depend on weather conditions. Afterwards continue to the island of Hvar, take a swim break and continue sailing through lunch, arriving at the island of Hvar this afternoon after disembarking explore the city and see many historical sights of the town, such as St Stephen’s Square and Cathedral, the Arsenal with the theatre built on its first floor, the first municipal theatre in Europe. Above Hvar Town is the impressive fortress Fortica offering magnificent views over the bay and Pakleni islands. Overnight in Hvar or Stari Grad. (B, L)

Early in the morning set sail for the island of Korčula, with swimming stop in one of pristine bays, time to relax and lunch on board. Continue towards Korčula, the most preserved medieval town, thought to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. Take a walking tour of Korčula which takes you through its narrow, cobbled streets full of history. Evening is free to explore the town on your own. (B, L)

Morning head south to the Island of Mljet. Join the Cruise Manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park.Lunch on board and departure for a small village called Slano on the mainland. Slano is a peaceful fishermen’s village, and the starting point to Ston, situated on Pelješac peninsula- known as one of the best wine-producing regions in Croatia. After exploring the town, leave to a small nearby village to enjoy the authentic local oyster tasting. Tonight, enjoy Captain’s dinner and overnight in Slano. (B, L, T, CD) 

Cruise to Elaphiti Islands with swim stop. Continue sailing to Dubrovnik, and, before we moor at the port, we cruise alongside the old city walls. After docking, join a guided tour at the historical center of Dubrovnik, walk through Stradun – both a street and a square, the most famous place inside the town walls, enlisted as UNESCO’s World Heritage site. Guide will show you the most interesting sights of the Old Town and visit the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. After city tour, free time to explore the city, visit City Walls, the Rector’s Palace, and the Cathedral, or take the cable car to the top of the Mount Srđ. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B, L)
