Enchanting Cinque Terre from Milan

Arrival at Milan Malpensa airport and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Depending on the arrival time, it is possible join a guided tour of the city centre, which reaches the main symbols of the city, such as the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the Teatro alla Scala and the Sforzesco Castle; or an internal visit of the Teatro alla Scala and its museum, one of the most famous theatre houses in the world. For the sports enthusiasts, a bike tour is also available. Dinner on your own and overnight at Nyx Hotel Milan or similar.

After breakfast, proceed to Milan Centrale station to board the train to Genoa. The journey takes about 1h 40min. After arriving and settling into the hotel, free time at your disposal for a visit of the city on your own. A one-day hop-on / hop-off tourist bus ticket (with multilingual audio guide) is included, which can also be used for getting around the city, ideal for those who want to get around to discover Genova on one’s own, the city hiding a multitude of treasures to be discovered. You can stroll through the alleys of the historic centre, admire the marine fauna of the Aquarium, one of the largest in Europe, or discover the local specialties (focaccia, cheese focaccia, fried squid) on an appetising street food tour. Optional: Genova Walking tour

After breakfast board the train to La Spezia. The journey takes about 1h 30 min. La Spezia is the starting city to explore the famous Cinque Terre, the stretch of coast with 5 fishing villages perched over the sea: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The two-day Cinque Terre Train Card is included, which allows access to the National Park area and the use of regional trains that connect the villages and of local buses. Overnight at Hotel The Poet or similar. (B)

Breakfast at the hotel, then free day to continue the visit of the Cinque Terre, participate in a food tour to taste the typical season specialties of the territory. Sports enthusiasts can opt for a mountain e-bike ride with a guide on one of the many scenic routes of the Gulf of Poets. Overnight at Hotel The Poet or similar. (B) 

Optional: The Gulf of Poets by e-bike. 

After breakfast, we board the high-speed train to Roma Termini Station. The journey takes about 4hrs. We suggest taking a train departing early in the morning to have a half day at disposal in Rome to discover the city or join an optional activity. We recommend a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, to admire Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and other masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance, or our tour of Imperial Rome, to observe the monuments of the Roman Forum, enter the Colosseum and listen to our guide’s narration of the history of ancient Rome and the gladiator fights that took place there. Alternatively, participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare some of the best-known Italian specialities such as pasta, pizza or tiramisu. Overnight at Hotel Gambrinus or similar. (B)
