    Must see while in Egypt. Full Day tour to Abu Simbel. Depart Aswan on your 45 minutes flight to the legendary site of Abu Simbel. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the breathtaking temples built by Ramses II for a private guided tour. These astonishing ruins were carved out of the mountain between 1290 and 1224 BC, and were shifted to higher ground in the 1960s as the waters of Lake Nasser began to rise. The first Great Temple is distinguished by its four enormous seated statues of the pharaoh, built to signify his power and divine nature. The smaller temple located 50 metres away was built by Ramses II for his wife Nefertari to be worshipped with other gods. Return airfare to Aswan included.
